What is The Automotive Directory?

A database of U.S.A motoring company and organisation listings organised into a hierarchical tree structure and displayed on the internet. Hundreds of directory pages feature prominently in every search engine including our main link partner Google.  The directory has received over two million visitors every year since 2001.

We submitted a listing but it has not appeared?

Each listing application is reviewed by a member in the Review Team according to the Listing Policy.  While this review ensures good accuracy, sometimes the process is slow causing a backlog.  Every application is confirmed by email whether successful or not.  You are welcome to enquire about the progress of any listing application.

 

How long is the review queue?

This varies according to the number of submissions received but averages 1 - 3 weeks.

Gold & Premium Listings guarantees turn-around in two (2) business days.

 

We submitted a number of listings and now they have all disappeared?

The policy stipulates one only complimentary listing per business.  We employ a number of techniques that automatically search and remove multiple listings.  If, your listings have been removed, then reapply for one Link Partner listing.

 

We added a link on our web site to the directory and then asked for a listing?
The only way to be listed in the directory is to apply for a listing by following the instructions on the Submit a Site page.  We neither have the time or the interest in Link Sharing other than through our submission process. 

 

We attempted to submit our listing but the confirmation page stated that our address (URL) was already in your database.  We cannot find our listing.  Please help?

The listing may be live in the directory but not where you originally submitted it.  Use the A- Z Directory Listing to locate your listing, and see what category you are listed in.  If you still cannot locate the listing, it may be in a Pending queue in which case Contact Us and we will check it for you.

 

Your directory is on page 1 of Google for our key-words, how do we get to the top ?

Getting to the top of search engine rankings is a long arduous process that we have refined over many years.  Get the top spot in the directory for your chosen category and be seen first when visitors arrive!  Get a Premium Listing.

 

How do we report a bad or dead link?
Go to the listing in the directory and select the 'Update Listing' link and follow the instructions.

 

Can we have more than one [1] listing?

In short, NO, the listing policy stipulates one only complimentary listing per company.  Alternately, listings in additional categories are accepted with Gold or Premium Listings.

Listing Titles F.A.Q

 

We receive more requests to change the title than any other request.  Our policy for complimentary listings is clear and simple:  the listing title must accurately reflect a 'Company business name', 'Product name', or 'Web site name'.

How do I make changes to my listing details?

 

The easiest method is to go to the listing in the directory, and click on the Update thi Listing link, and follow the prompts.  This allows you to change listing title, description and contact information.  If you feel the listing better suits a different category, send our Support Team the details via our contact page.
